The Law Office of Alton B. Johnson was founded on the principle that the clients interest always comes first, be it in an advisory capacity, or in full scale adversarial litigation.
Attorney Alton Johnson worked on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Cherokee, N.C. for several years in the capacity of legal counsel for victims of domestic violence (women, men and children) and in the juvenile court system as defense counsel for Cherokee youth. He served as presenter of the initial team which helped obtain funding for the Cherokee Juvenile Drug Court program. Alton Johnson also provided advice and counsel in developing the Cherokee Domestic Violence Code and served as a presenter/lecturer for CLE programs.
Attorney Alton Johnson has served as adjunct faculty professor for Southwestern Community College in the Paralegal Program, Criminal Justice Program and Basic Law Enforcement Training Program, and the U.S. National Parks Certification Program. Among the courses taught by Mr. Johnson include: Constitutional law, Courtroom Practice and Procedure, Torts, Family Law, Evidence, and Criminal Law.
Attorney Alton Johnson has also represented numerous clients in the Superior and Federal Courts in Georgia in various civil and criminal matters, as well as, having served as Judge Pro Tem in the Juvenile Courts, Guardian Ad Litem in the Superior and Juvenile Courts, Juvenile Criminal Defense Counsel, and is currently serving as Special Assistant Prosecutor for the Georgia Mountain Circuit Juvenile Court.
Mr.Johnson brings a wide range of practical and academic experience to the practice of law for the benefit of the client. Attorney Johnson is admitted to the Federal Northern District Court of Georgia, The Georgia Court of Appeals and The Georgia Supreme Court.
